Emmanuel Church Aylsham was formed when White Hart Street Baptist Church and Cawston Road Brethren Church joined back in the early nineties. We are now an eclectic mix of people from many church denominations, joined together with one common belief, that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, and through Him, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we should live our lives pleasing to Him. We preach the word of God and aim to share God’s love with those around us, as God has called us to.
We are affiliated to the Baptist Union.

| WHO WE ARE?
We are a group of Christians, part of what the Bible describes as “the Body of Christ”. We seek through the power of the Holy Spirit to serve the Lord Jesus daily.
WHAT WE BELIEVE?
That God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is one God and is sovereign (2 Cor. 13: 14 : Eph. 1:11).
That the Bible is the inspired Word of God ( 2 Tim. 3 : 16).
That Jesus Christ is the Son of God conceived by the Holy Spirit and born as a human being. This Jesus although tempted did not sin (Luke 1: 35, John 1: 11-18, Heb. 4: 15).
That God so loved humankind that He gave His Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross as a Sacrifice for our sin, and that God raised Jesus from death and He is Alive Today (John 3: 16, Eph. 5: 2)
That Jesus bore the judgement for our sin, and we can become members of God’s family by repentance, that is turning away from sin, having a new view of God and trusting in the risen Lord by faith. (Matt. 10: 32, Acts 26: 20, Eph. 2: 8)
That Jesus is Lord of our lives, His Spirit lives in us and gives us assurance of salvation, as become God’s children possessing eternal life and follow Him in the way of Baptism. We therefore believe in the priesthood of all believers (Matt. 28: 18 - 20, 1 Pet. 2: 4 - 5, Romans 8: 1- 11, Heb. 13:15-16)
That the Spirit of Jesus can change our lives by giving His followers a power to live by and special gifts with which to serve and Worship Him (1 Cor. 12: 4 -13, Eph 1: 13 - 14).
That one day Jesus Christ will visibly return and take all believers to be with Him (Matt. 24: 30)
WHAT WE DO?
We try to follow the teaching and commands of Jesus as recorded in the Bible by:-
1. Gathering together frequently for worship in prayer and praise.
2. Remembering the Lord Jesus Christ as we celebrate Communion.
3. Learning together as we study the Bible, encouraging each other in the faith.
4. Proclaiming the Gospel to adults, young people and children, helping them to understand
what it means.
5. Baptising believers by total immersion.
6. Dedicating babies and small children to the Lord.
7. Serving the community as best we can.
8. Showing a concern for the way our nation is governed and led.
9. Showing a concern for the physical and wellbeing of the whole world.
We are associated with local Baptist and Open Brethern churches and the Evangelical Alliance, and affiliated to the Baptist Union.
